Leadership Styles and their Relation with Organizational Commitment of Employees in Egyptian Hotels

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the leadership styles and their relation with the level of the organizational commitment of the Egyptian hotel employees. Based on quantitative research methods (504) survey was distributed to front line employees. The results were analyzed using the SPSS 23.The results indicated that the transaction leadership style was the predominant style among the leadership styles in the sample hotels followed by the transformational leadership style, as well as the existence of a strong correlation relationship between the leadership styles and the dimensions of the organizational commitment. The study recommends that hotel organizations in Egypt to give more attention and practice the transformational leadership style which has important influence on the level of the affective organizational commitment of employees.
